The Heart system is considered the Emperor of the body. It is the most important of all the internal organs systems. It is responsible for the smooth integration of all the organ systems, even the personality of an individual. When the Heart system is disturbed, all the other systems will be disrupted.
The Small Intestine system is responsible for digestion and nutrient absorption. It receives and transforms food by separating the needed nutrients from the waste by- products. The nutrients become a part of the bodily fluids in the blood and the waste becomes urine.
The Heart meridian begins at the center of the armpit, flows down the inner (yin) aspect of the arms, meets with the Small Intestine meridian at the small fingers, then travels the outer (yang) aspect of the arm ending in front of the ears.
Joy, love, peace and forgiveness are signs of a balanced Heart system. Imbalanced attributes include nervousness, hatred, longing and over-excitement.
